Feel the Reel International Film Festival

Legacy Theater Film Festival

The total production time on this film was under five hours, as this is the first professional film I’ve done on a $0 budget. No equipment rentals, no location fees, no actor salaries and no crew. I worked as a one-man crew (a way of working I personally love) - meaning I was directing, filming, recording sound, lighting, etc all at the same time.

I wanted to really challenge myself and try to tell a complicated storyline in 5 minutes, using local locations and my own gear. No bells and whistles. I edited the film all in one day, and after deciding to send it on the festival circuit (after originally planning to make the film just for practice), it went on to win awards like Best Young Filmmaker, Best Microfilm, and Best in Show, and more. It screened at the most popular theater in the United States; the AMC Empire 25 in Times Square as part of the All American High School Film Festival (from which I earned a Best Emerging Filmmaker nomination).
